He was an honoree at the 10th Breakthrough Prize Ceremony on April 13th 2024. Dr. Sadelain and Carl June were recognized for their development of chimeric antigen receptor T cell immunotherapy, whereby a patient’s T cells are modified to target and kill cancer cells.
